CREME DE LA CRUST

I came here to drink coffee and dessert on many recommendations of my friends. I ate two cakes and took four more home. It was very tasty. The pastry shop is cozy. I am glad that I discovered this place. I will definitely come again.

What a fantastic cake shop! We are in Barnard castle for the bank holiday weekend and have visited the shop every day since arriving. A warm welcome from the owner and she could not do enough for us. The coffee tastes lovely and the cakes are divine! The best cakes I’ve ever tasted. So light and tasty. If you’re visiting Barnard castle definitely give this little cake shop a try. Thanks so much

Lady from the shop is very friendly and helpful! We visited this cafe because our friends recommended to try the marvelous cakes and we are definitely agree - that’s Yammy ! Good choices, fresh and flavorful ! We are far away from this cafe but not regret that we are drive there and have a delish time! Also we get Ukrainian souvenirs for some donation. AMAZING! This beautiful little cake shop has the most delicious homemade cakes we have ever had. Known locally as the Ukrainian cake shop. A chance to try new flavours from the owners home town of Kiev. Very fairly priced too. Lovely local handmade coffee and a small selection of gifts and art. The decor has a cosmopolitan European vibe with seating indoors and out. A must visit if you are in Barnard Castle!

We visited today whilst on holiday, and loved it. We hadn't heard about it before, just saw the amazing cake display and had to call in. It's such a nice relaxing atmosphere, our normally nervous dogs almost fell asleep under the table. We had Nutella cake, lemon cake and berry cake, all superb. We will try to come back again before we have to travel home.....

Discovered this delightful little patisserie on the 24th June 2025. It's the perfect stop off if you're travelling the A66 and need a break. The cakes are delicious and so tempting we went back again the next day. It's dog friendly but I would suggest small dogs only as the seating area is quite small, though there are a couple of small tables outside. The coffee is very good and perfect accompaniment to the cakes. The owners clearly take pride in what they do. We wish them continued success and hope they get the recognition they deserve.

I needed to grab a coffee for the drive home and decided to try Creme De La Crust because the cakes looked nice. One coffee and cake later and I was ready for the long drive. The place is lovely, the coffee is tasty, the cakes are brilliant and the service is top notch. The next time I am in the area I will be popping in again.
